Hartford Public Library needs your financial support. We could not maintain our historic public library without the enormous generosity of readers, historians, community-minded corporations, and even school children. Your donations help the Library build and protect our collections and conserve historical artifacts, sponsor special programs, promote literacy and public education for all ages. With your fully tax-deductible gift, you can help the Library create a richer, more exciting quality of life in our City.
Your donation to Hartford Public Library’s Annual Fund supports the building and maintenance of a dynamic and robust collection of books and other materials, public computer access, a wide range of exceptional exhibitions, and education and outreach programs, and a robust collection of books and other materials. These initiatives along with literacy and after-school programs are made possible by your generous support.
Online giving via credit card is safe and convenient. You'll receive a contribution confirmation via return email that you can print and file for tax purposes. If you prefer, you may exercise one of these other options.Or you can mail your check, money order, or credit-card information to Hartford Public Library, Development Office, 500 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103. Please include your name and address and specify that your donation is for the Annual Fund. If you are donating by credit card, please include: name as it appears on the credit card, type of credit card, account number, card expiration date, amount of your gift, and your daytime telephone number.
Or you can call Jane Penfield, development manager, at 860-695-6342 to make a donation. All givers will receive confirmation letters after being processed.
Stock donations are also a way for the you to support the Library’s Annual Fund. Make a matching contribution
Increase the value of your contribution to the Library with a Corporate Matching Gift. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contribution made by their employees in order to provide support in their communities.
Simply contact your employer's office and ask for a matching gift form. Some companies even offer the form online for your convenience. Fill out your portion of the form and mail it to us at: Hartford Public Library, Development Office, 500 Main Street, Hartford, Ct 06103.
Lots of employers offer to match charitable gifts made by employees, retirees, and board members. Please see a partial list of employers who participate. If your employer is not listed, please ask your Human Resources department.
