Our digital collection includes electronic books, music, audiobooks and magazines that you can check out to use on your computer or portable device. Before you are able to use these materials on some devices, you may need to download software that allows your computer or device to correctly process the files. The Freegal Music Service is a download music service that the Hartford Public Library offers, free of charge, for use by library cardholders.

Zinio is an unlimited, simultaneous use digital newsstand. This high quality service is the same as that used by many consumers to access magazines in their digital form, but is now available for library customers through Recorded Books Digital. Now you can view full digital copies of your favorite magazines! Choose from 150 titles to read online, or download to your computer or mobile device. Digital magazines are full-print, full-color (including advertisements) - exactly like the print magazine, with bonus interactive elements in many magazines.
To access this collection, you need to create an account with Recorded Books and a separate account with Zinio. Readers can view the magazines on a variety of devices, and can download the magazine so that it can be enjoyed for offline reading.Currently, Zinio is not available for Nook tablets.

IndieFlix is a new streaming independent movie service available for library customers through Recorded Books Digital. Choose from over 4,500 award-wining shorts, features and documentaries from more than 50 countries. Selections include the best of many film festivals, including Sundance, Cannes, and Tribeca. To access this collection, you will need to set up an account with IndieFlix and Recorded Books; you can use the same password if you have an existing account with RBDigital . Films can be viewed on Apple, Android, and all Internet-enabled devices.
